Zoo Tigers Hunt Prey For Entertainment
I don't quite know why but all of a sudden today the fact that Harbin Siberian Tiger Park in China feeds live prey to their Tigers for the amusement of visitors has resurfaced. One video has appeared on a dozen or so sites today....some have taken it down just as quickly.
Successful breeding or not the live feeding of animals to carnivores is totally unnecessary unless they are being prepared for return to the wild. It isn't clever, it isn't enrichment....it is cruel and unkind. See 'Live Feeding to Zoo Animals'.
