11th Annual ABMA Conference

2011 ABMA Conference - CALL FOR PAPERS AND POSTERS!

Presentations by attendees are always a highlight of the Animal Behavior Management Alliance Conferences. The next annual conference will be held April 17th – 22nd, 2010 in Denver, CO. We are now seeking submissions for the paper and poster sessions.


This year’s theme is:

“Miles Above… and Beyond! Elevating Behavior Management”

If you have a behavior management accomplishment, an intriguing case study, a research project, or innovation for the field, especially one that resonates with the theme of the conference, please come share it with your colleagues! Now is the time to put together an abstract and submit it!



Regular Submission deadline: January 15, 2011

THE TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN!

The scholarship will provide:

· Air Transportation (or mileage reimbursement)

· Hotel room

· Full conference registration



Applicant Requirements

· Applicant must be an ABMA member in good standing.

· Applicant may not have received this scholarship in the previous year.

· Applicant must submit the complete application form including required signature and abstract by the deadline and if selected, be able to present at the conference.

· Submissions must be for oral presentations, not posters.

Scholarship Application Deadline: January 1, 2011.

The conference will kick off with our keynote speaker, Dr. Jill Mellen from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and will culminate with an Earth Day to remember at Denver Zoo. Now is also the time for all of us to look at how we will contribute to making this conference a success!

· Join your hosts: Denver Zoo, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Downtown Aquarium, Denver

· Hotel: The JW Marriott, Cherry Creek

· Site visits to: Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Downtown Aquarium Denver, Denver Zoo

· Pre conference trip to watch a rescue demonstration by avalanche deployment unit dogs

· CEU credits for CPDT and IAABC certification!

· We are working on a possible pre conference TAG teach opportunity as well!

Start thinking now about your travel plans, your budget, and your paper topics… and we hope to see all of you in 2011!

Denver is about a 1.5 hour drive to Estes Park, entrance to the National Park, and home to the famous Stanley Hotel, Stephen King's inspiration for The Shining - a beautiful day trip. You are guaranteed to see elk, though moose, bears, pika and marmots are not out of the question!
